Greene County:

Greene County Courthouse, Xenia Ohio. 1901/02. July 4, 2011.

You say Greene County to people of a certain age in Ohio and they look at you blankly; mention Xenia and it's a different story. In 1974 Xenia was flattened when a tornado cut through it's center, leaving 34 dead. The courthouse was damaged, most of the buildings around it were destroyed. But people rebuilt and Xenia seems a pleasant town.

This was the extent of our July 4 roadtrip, it was late, the camera batteries were tired, so were we; and we had miles to go before we slept.
